How to Make a Acer Laptop Battery Last Longer

Save on electricity and get the most out of your laptop when you aren’t plugged in. Here are ten steps to make your HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter last longer.
#Step 1 Dim your screen
For most lenovo thinkpad x100e battery dimming is a button on the top row that looks like a sun with a down arrow. Press it repeatedly to reach the dimmest screen setting you can still function with.
#Step 2 Turn off programs running in the back ground that you aren’t using
Programs like Itunes, chat programs, Windows Customer Experience Center. All of these take laptop battery life to run, you can extend your HP Pavilion DV5 AC Adapter juice a little bit farther by turning them off. You can even go so far as to set them up not to auto start. This will also decrease the amount of time it takes to start up your computer. If you use an email program like gmail or yahoo you can choose to turn off the chat functions and run on the html setting. You will need to manually refresh to see updates, but you will use a lot less energy.
#Step 3 Run off a hard drive or jump drive rather than a CD or DVD
CDs and DVDs need to spin to function. Spinning takes energy. Hard drives and jump drives don’t spin.
#Step 4 Turn your computer off or to hibernate mode
A “sleeping” computer or a computer on standby is still using quite a bit of energy so that it can start up quickly right were you left off. To conserve the most energy turn it all the way off or set it to hibernate.
#Step 5 Optimize your power settings
Most laptops have a power setting option. Click on the toshiba satellite r10 charger icon on your desktop (mine’s in the lower left corner) and you should get the option for several power modes. Choose the one that is called “power saver” or something similar. Some laptops will automatically switch when they aren’t plugged in.
#Step 6 Don’t use sound
Turn the sound off on your computer – it takes up to seven times more energy to play sound than just use the screen of your Toshiba Satellite A100 Keyboard. If you must have sound, use your headphones. They take far less energy.
#Step 7 Don’t have multiple programs running
When you are working off your Toshiba Satellite L300 Keyboard use only one program at a time. Email that refreshes itself constantly can be a big drain on the battery, so close it when you aren’t using it directly.
#Step 8 Keep your temperatures down
A hot computer is an inefficient computer. Use the canned designed to clean electronics to clean out the vents. They are often on the bottom of your Toshiba Satellite L305D eyboard. Also if you are using your laptop on a soft surface like a pillow you maybe blocking those vents and your computer isn’t cooling properly. Get a lap board or a large notebook to set your computer on instead.
#Step 9 Defrag your hard drive
You can have a more efficient computer not just in how fast it can do the tasks you give it but in the energy it uses by simply defragging it. lenovo thinkpad t61 battery tend to not need as much defragging as PCs.
#Step 10 Get a new battery or new computer
Older batteries tend to not hold charge as well. If you have had your battery or used it a lot you may benefit from a new one. There are also lots of new laptops out there that are super efficient. Many are built specifically for use on ibm thinkpad t43 battery alone. If you will be working often without a power source make it a priority in your next computer.

lenovo thinkpad t400 battery lifetime

Rechargeable lithium-ion toshiba satellite l300 battery are very common in gadgets like laptops, PDAs and cell phones, unfortunately these are very expensive. I had to replace my Sony battery for 250 Euro(!) – well I bought a cheaper clone for 100 Euro, but it has its drawbacks (at the beginning it worked for 3 hours, now for about one…).
So it pays if you keep your current lenovo  thinkpad t400 battery up and running as long as possible. Here are a few facts I’ve collected over the last few months:
* Lithium-ion batteries can be recharged whenever convenient, there is no memory effect
* A new battery should be charged and discharged fully for the first three cycles (initial conditioning)
* Keep the electrons moving (discharge/recharge the toshiba satellite A300 Charger at least once every month)
* Don’t keep your device plugged in all the time (this is very bad for the battery)
* Keep the working temperature in mind (22°C is best for most devices)
I put my ibm/lenovo thinkpad t60 ac adapter out if I’m working plugged in for a longer time.
Notebook Li-Ion batteries have a typical lifetime of about three years, but this depends on how you use it. A friend of mine uses his notebook on a daily basis (on battery) and his battery works for about four years now – I’ve used my notebook occasionally (mostly plugged in) and the Toshiba Satellite L300 Keyboard had to be replaced after 2.5 years… .
I’ve read some posts on bulletin boards telling me to put my toshiba laptop battery into the refrigerator – these procedure should repair some structure and the battery should work like a new one. Well I’ve tried it with my old battery, but it didn’t work :-) .
Broken batteries usually provide their full power but only on very low power consumption, for example my broken Compaq presario CQ60 Keyboard could power my cell phone for days (weeks?) because it consumes much less power than the laptop.

Laptop Batteries - How does a Laptop Battery work?
Just like their AA, AAA, and C cell cousins, laptop batteries create an electrochemical reaction that forces a stream of electrons from one place to another. And just like household batteries, laptop batteries have a positive and negative terminal where electrons are received and sent, respectively. However, have unique characteristics compared to household batteries.
1. They are rechargeable
2. The toshiba satellite m50 battery is composed of multiple internal cells
3. They contain a small printed circuit board
4. Their overall shape of a laptop battery and the location of their terminals vary from model to model
Rechargeable Toshiba PA3534U-1BAS batteries are significantly more complicated to design than a non-rechargeable toshiba tecra a8 battery because the electrochemical reaction that provides power must be reversible. As Lawrence Berkeley Lab's staff scientist Frank McLarnon explained to Scientific American.com:
"When a is discharged, an electrochemical oxidation reaction proceeds at the negative electrode, and an electrochemical reduction reaction occurs at the positive electrode. When one attempts to recharge a toshiba pa3534u-1bas laptop batteries by reversing the direction of electric current flow, the opposite takes place: a reduction reaction proceeds at the negative electrode, and an oxidation reaction takes place at the positive electrode.
"In the case of the rechargeable toshiba satellite m60 battery, the electrochemical oxidation-reduction reactions are reversible at both electrodes???In the case of the non-rechargeable battery, when one attempts to recharge the pa3534u-1bas battery by reversing the direction of electron current flow, at least one of the electrochemical oxidation-reduction reactions is not reversible. When the battery is charged, the overall reduction reaction that proceeds at the negative electrode may not be the true reverse of the oxidation reaction that proceeded when the toshiba satellite p25 battery was discharged.
If the laptop battery process isn't exact, then unwanted build up can take place on either terminal over time, which can cause a dangerous short-circuit.
Also unlike a household battery, toshiba satellite pro p200 battery are composed of multiple internal cells. These cells are arranged in series and in parallel in such a way that the toshiba laptop batteries has a higher voltage level than the individual cells. Laptop batteries also contain a small circuit board that controls the way the cells are recharged. Without this board, the laptop battery would not function properly.
